First impressions.
I was having dinner with a prominent plaintiff’s attorney recently and we were discussing our respective firms and what plans we had for 2025. I explained that at the beginning of the year, we were rolling out a new, state of-the-art website. His reply was “why would you spend money on that? You don’t need to advertise – all your clients are assigned directly to you….”
When a doctor gets sued for malpractice and is assigned an attorney, the first thing they do is google the name of the attorney they’ve been assigned. Too often, the doctor sees their attorney on a flat, antiquated, text-heavy website that looks like it’s been untouched since 1999.
That is not the first impression we want to make with our clients. When a doctor gets sued, their professional reputation and livelihood are at stake. Litigation takes an emotional toll. They want to feel that their attorney cares as much about their case as they do. If our clients google our firm, we want them to feel secure knowing that we take pride in our firm, our work product and our handling of our cases.
Tough decisions have to be made during medical malpractice litigation, and it is imperative that our clients trust us to help them with those decisions. They want to feel that they have the best attorneys, and that starts from our first impression when we are first assigned as counsel.
That’s why we invest in our firm. That’s why we moved into a new, carefully designed office space at our home office in Bethlehem. That's why we opened our new Philadelphia office. And that’s why we are unveiling this new, state-of-the-art website. While other attorneys might view these things as extraneous expenses, we know it is critical that our firm instills the confidence and trust in our clients that allows us to successfully shepherd them through the litigation process.
